Dominique Diomande To Transfer To Pitt

PITTSBURGH – Dominique Diomande, a 6-foot-7 redshirt sophomore forward from Paris, France, will transfer from BYU to the Pitt men's basketball program for the 2026-27 season. Diomande brings athleticism, defensive versatility and a unique international background to the Pitt roster. He will have three years of eligibility remaining.

Diomande initially came to the United States and joined Washington in January of the 2024-25 season and redshirted. He then transferred to BYU, where he gained valuable experience in the Big 12 Conference, appearing in 24 games during the 2025-26 season and showcasing his defensive energy and athleticism at the collegiate level.
For the season, Diomande averaged 1.9 points, 1.3 rebounds and 0.7 steals. He was 17-of-37 from the field and posted a career-best nine points in his collegiate debut against Holy Cross. He twice had five rebounds in a game and posted a career-best three steals in back-to-back games at the Big 12 Championship. He saved his sharpest play for the Big 12 Tournament, when he had nine steals and shot 67 percent from the field (8-of-12) across three games.
Diomande's basketball foundation was built across the Atlantic. A native of Paris, he developed his game with ADA Blois in France, competing in the ProA U21 league and averaging 16.0 points, 6.0 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 1.8 steals per game across 26 appearances while shooting 51.9 percent from the field.
Diomande also represents the Ivory Coast on the international stage, having suited up for the senior national team and competed in FIBA youth competitions.
