Pitt Welcomes Notre Dame to Round Out Regular Season

PITTSBURGH – Pitt (29-21, 10-17 ACC) hosts Notre Dame (28-20, 11-16 ACC) this weekend for their final ACC regular season series of the year.
The Panthers took the series from the Fighting Irish the last time they visited Charles L. Cost Field in 2023.
Top of the Order
• With one more win, Pitt will eclipse the 30-win mark for the first time under Mike Bell, and the first time since joining the ACC. The Panthers have won 29 games three times since joining the ACC (2018, 2022 & 2026).
• The Panthers got back in the win column on Tuesday night with a 11-7 win over in-state rival Penn State. Pitt has won each of their last four games over the Nittany Lions.
• The Oakland Lumber Company is open for business and Pitt's offense is one of the best in the country. They lead the nation in base on balls (337), rank fifth in OBP (.439), eighth in SLG (.545), 11th in home runs (96) and home runs per game (1.92) and 13th in scoring (8.7).
• The Panther offense set the program record for home runs in a single season with 96 this year. They have driven in 174 runs via the long ball, hitting seven grand slams and nineteen three-run home runs this year. Pitt's previous home run mark was 79 in 2022.
• SS Caden Dulin was named as a semifinalist for the Brooks Wallace Award which is given annually to the nation's most outstanding shortstop. During ACC play, Dulin is hitting .395 with 47 hits, 24 RBI, 24 runs scored, seven home runs, seven doubles and 75 total bases.
• OF Lorenzo Carrier had a four-hit performance in Tuesday's win over Penn State. He leads the ACC in walks (51) and OBP (.549), ranks second in SLG (.813), third in home runs (18), batting average (.386) and total bases (133), fourth in RBI (62) and eighth in runs scored (59). He is closing in on single-season program records for home runs, walks and RBI.
• Carrier earned multiple midseason First Team All-America honors and was named to the Golden Spikes Award and Baseball America Player of the Year Midseason Watch Lists. He was recently named as one of the nine semifinalists for the Tony Gwynn Community Service Trophy.
• Pitt leads the entire country in walks this year with 346. OF Lorenzo Carrier's 51 walks lead the ACC and rank eighth nationally. Their 346 free passes set the program record for walks in a single season. For an individual, the program record for walks in a season is 57, set by Luke Cantwell in 2024.
