Panthers Host Seminoles for First Time Sunday

PITTSBURGH – No. 24 Pitt women's lacrosse returns to Highmark Stadium Sunday for its final home ACC game of the season, welcoming Florida State for the first time in program history. First draw is set for 12 p.m.

LAST TIME OUT

Pitt held off a late James Madison push to earn a 12-11 victory Tuesday at Highmark Stadium, improving to 6-7 on the season. Avery Moon led the Panthers with three goals and two assists, while Gigi Leonzi added two goals and three assists. Aidan Carr won six draw controls, including her 100th of the season, becoming the first Panther in program history to reach the mark in a single season.

SCOUTING FLORIDA STATE

The Seminoles enter Sunday's contest at 3-10 overall and 0-8 in ACC play in their inaugural season. Florida State is coming off a 15-10 loss to No. 16 Duke.

PANTHERS TO WATCH

Kaitlyn Giandonato leads Pitt with 34 goals on the season and ranks seventh in the ACC in goals per game (2.62). Moon sits fifth in the conference in assists per game (1.77) and has 49 points on the year. Carr ranks third in the conference in draw controls per game (7.77) and set the program's single-season record with 101 draw controls. Lainey McGonagle owns the program's single-season caused turnovers record with 27, ranking fourth in the ACC in the category per game (2.08). Molly Cain is third in the conference in saves per game (8.08).

MATCHUP HISTORY

Sunday marks the first all-time meeting between the two programs.
