Panthers Climb Record Book with Performances at Raleigh Relays

RALEIGH, N.C. – Pitt distance ran well at Raleigh Relays, recording three top 10 times and six personal bests at the infamous outdoor meet hosted by NC State.
THURSDAY RECAP
Luke Simpson and Quintin Gatons recorded top 10 program times in their respective events on the first day of the meet. Simpson ran a personal best 3:42.90 in the 1500 meters to move from sixth into fourth in program history. Gatons' personal best of 14:05.72 made him move up one spot on the program's top 10 list, from ninth to eighth.
Ethan Fingerhut ran a personal best 3:49.38 in the 1500 meters while Graham Heinrich stopped the clock in 3:51.59 in his outdoor debut.
Damian Frausto clocked a 14:35.87 personal best in the 5000 meters.
Thomas McMahon earned 25th place in the 10000 meters with his pace of 29:24.32.
FRIDAY RECAP
The following day, Gianna Cagliola ran a personal best 10:55.54 in the 3000 meters steeplechase, to go from tenth all-time to eighth. Freshman Elena Barrall made her outdoor debut in the same race, finishing in 11:09.65.
Camy Kiser was the top finisher for Pitt in the 5000 meters with her 17:02.26 time. Sydney Nowicki was right behind in 17:02.74. Senior Sarah Hurst completed the run with a personal best 17:11.38.

The Panthers travel south to Gainesville, Fla. for the Florida Relay April 3 and 4.
