Pitt Welcomes Youngstown State to Highmark Stadium

PITTSBURGH – No. 23 Pitt women's lacrosse returns to Highmark Stadium Tuesday to host Youngstown State. First draw is set for 4 p.m.
LAST TIME OUT
Pitt fell to No. 9 Clemson 11-10 Saturday at Highmark Stadium. Kaitlyn Giandonato scored four goals and Paige Telatovich added three, while Gigi Leonzi tied the program's single-game record with five assists. The Panthers led 9-8 heading into the fourth quarter before the Tigers scored three times in a five-minute stretch to take control.
SCOUTING YOUNGSTOWN STATE
The Penguins enter at 1-8 overall in their first season under head coach Liza Oakley. YSU dropped a 22-3 decision to Cincinnati in their last outing. Claire Baenziger leads the team with 21 goals on the season and has recorded a team-high 37 draw controls.
PANTHERS TO WATCH
Avery Moon leads the Panthers with 38 points (20 goals, 18 assists) on the season. The junior attacker sits on a 25-game consecutive point streak and eclipsed 100 career points earlier this season, becoming just the third Panther in program history to reach the milestone.
Giandonato has scored in four straight games, tallying eight goals and two assists in that span. Her 24 goals on the season rank second on the team and move her career total to 66, fourth all-time in program history.
Aidan Carr stands second in the ACC and ranks 19th nationally in draw controls per game (7.70). She recorded a program-record 18 draw controls against American on March 11.

Pitt leads the all-time series 1-0, a 13-9 Pitt victory at Highmark Stadium in 2023.
