Panthers Prep for ACC Championship at First Horizon Coliseum

PITTSBURGH – The No. 6 seed Pitt Gymnastics team (6-12, 0-6 ACC) will compete against No. 5 seed North Carolina (8-10, 1-5 ACC) in Session I of the ACC Championship on Saturday, March 21, at First Horizon Coliseum. The session is set for 2:30 p.m. and will be streamed on ACC Network, with live stats available HERE.
The No. 1 seed and ACC regular season champion Stanford, No. 2 seed Cal, No. 3 seed Clemson and No. 4 seed NC State will compete at Session II of the ACC Championship at 7 p.m. The team with the highest overall score across both sessions will be crowned ACC Champion.
Fitzgerald Field House Finale
- The Panthers competed in their final meet in the Fitzgerald Field House before moving into Victory Heights next season.
- Pitt's 196.400 is a season best and the ninth highest score in program history.
- Hallie Copperwheat, Reyna Garvey, Jaime Pratt and Kennedy Duke closed out their careers at home with a victory.
Bars are Hot
- Pitt's bars team is #26 in the nation and notched a season-high 49.325 on Sunday.
- Jaime Pratt earned the bars title with a 9.900.
- This marked her third 9.900 in the last four meets.
Layla and Lailah Leveling Up
- Freshmen Layla Bobek and Lailah Green each earned a career-high 9.850 on vault last Sunday against West Virginia and Illinois State.
- Pitt's vault team earned a season-high 49.075.
- Bobek also matched her personal best on beam with a 9.875, earning her first career event title.
Bubble Watch
- Pitt is #36 in the Road to Nationals rankings and is currently the final team to advance to NCAA Regionals.
- The Panthers recorded a 196.400 last Sunday to put them in contention for postseason competition.
Morgan Magic Leads Floor
- Mali Morgan recorded a personal-best 9.900 on floor at Elevate the Stage.
- She earned the score following a previous career-high 9.850 at the Fitzgerald Field House on Feb. 27.
- The Panthers were rolling on floor by contributing a 49.300.
- All six Panthers notched at least a 9.800, and freshman Madi Bell continued her impressive stretch with a 9.875.
Peaking at the Right Time
- Pitt's team and event scores are steadily increasing over the past few weeks.
- The Panthers added many hit routines on bars at Elevate the Stage, earning a previous season-high 49.225.
- Hallie Copperwheat delivered a 9.900, the second consecutive meet she has earned at least a 9.900.
- The vault team recorded a 49.050 on Sunday, and four Panthers added a 9.825.
PRs Left and Right
- Nine of Pitt's routines either matched or set a career high on Feb. 27.
- Lailah Green and Layla Bobek recorded personal-best 9.825s on vault, tying Kennedy Duke, Olivia Giunta and Makenzie Grant for the season high.
- Jaime Pratt's 9.900 on bars tied a career high, and Meika Lee added a 9.800, her previous career high.
- Emily Todd (9.925), Madi Bell (9.900), Mali Morgan (9.850) and Olivia Giunta (9.825) rounded out the night on floor with career-best performances.
Floor Team on Fire
- Pitt's floor team recorded a season-high 49.350 against Temple, Towson and Ball State.
- Emily Todd set a career high with a 9.925, surpassing her previous best of 9.875. Her score was good to win the event title.
- Freshman Madi Bell registered a career-high 9.900 after her best floor performance.
- Fellow rookie Mali Morgan (9.850) and Olivia Giunta (9.825) also delivered career-best performances.
Copperwheat's Beautiful Bars
- Hallie Copperwheat notched a season-high 9.925 on bars in the quad meet at the Fitzgerald Field House.
- This marked her third meet of the season that she at least owned a share of the bars title.
Pratt in her Prime!
- Senior Jaime Pratt is coming off back-to-back meets where she has earned a career-high 9.900 on bars.
- She followed Hallie Copperwheat and Towson's Isabella Minervini 9.925 in Friday night's quad meet and took home the bars title at Clemson the week before.
Vault Team On the Rise
- Pitt's vault team tied its season-high 48.950 to open the meet at home against Clemson.
- Freshman Makenzie Grant posted a career-high 9.825, and Olivia Giunta matched that score to tie her personal best.
- Kennedy Duke followed with a 9.825 of her own at Clemson.
- This marks an individual season high on the event for the Panthers.
