Pitt Set to Begin Outdoor Campaign in Charlotte

PITTSBURGH – The Pitt track and field program will open the outdoor season this weekend at the Charlotte 49er Classic.
- Live results can be found HERE.
- Friday action begins with three Panthers competing in the women's hammer throw at 11 a.m.
- Saturday will start with the men's shot put at 10 a.m.

ACC INDOOR CHAMPIONSHIPS RECAP
- The Panthers concluded their indoor campaign at the 2026 ACC Indoor Track and Field Championships.
- Pitt earned six medals, led by senior Alesia Rengle with a silver in the women's high jump. Rengle jumped a personal best 1.78 meters to earn First Team All-ACC accolades.
- Three Panthers garnered fourth place in their respective events. Eva Baldursdottir was awarded a fourth-place medal and Second Team All-ACC honors in the women's high jump. Niya Crawford received fourth place in the women's shot put with her personal best 16.19 meters toss. Jaden Shelton raced to fourth in the men's 60 meters hurdles, crossing the line in 7.78.
- Somiyah Braggs stopped the clock in 23.72 in the women's 200 meters final to take home fifth place.
- Luke Simpson ran the mile in 4:03.94 to earn sixth place and grab Pitt's first medal in the men's mile in program history.
UP NEXT
The Panthers will be back in action the following weekend when the distance squad competes in the Raleigh Relays March 26-27. The rest of the team will remain in Pittsburgh for the CMU Invitational March 27-28.
