Pitt Welcomes American to Highmark Stadium

PITTSBURGH – No. 23 Pitt women's lacrosse returns to Highmark Stadium Wednesday to host American University in the first-ever meeting between the two programs. First draw is set for 1 p.m.
LAST TIME OUT
Pitt dropped a 19-3 decision at No. 1 North Carolina Saturday in Chapel Hill, falling to 3-4 on the season and 2-3 in ACC play. Avery Moon scored twice and Aidan Carr won nine draw controls in the loss.
SCOUTING AMERICAN
The Eagles enter Wednesday's contest at 1-5 on the season after dropping a 15-5 decision to UMBC on Saturday. Reagan Murdoch leads American with 17 goals and 18 points through six games, while Kellie Linehan has added 15 goals and 19 points. Goalkeeper Brooke Hill has made 46 saves on the year.
MATCHUP HISTORY
Wednesday's game is the first meeting between Pitt and American in program history.
PANTHERS TO WATCH
Moon leads Pitt with 28 points (12g, 16a) on the season and recently eclipsed 100 career points, becoming just the third Panther in program history to reach the milestone. Kaitlyn Giandonato has added 14 goals and 19 points. On the defensive end, McGonagle leads with 17 caused turnovers and Cain has posted 62 saves in goal.
