Pitt Hosts Stanford for First Time in Nearly Four Decades

PITTSBURGH – The Pitt women's basketball team returns home Thursday evening to host Stanford at the Petersen Events Center. Tipoff is slated for 6 p.m. on ACCNX.

THE OPENING TIP

Pitt is coming off a 67-50 road loss at Virginia Tech last Thursday night in Blacksburg.
Mikayla Johnson led the Panthers with a game-high 21 points while adding six rebounds and two assists before fouling out after 35 minutes of action.
Fatima Diakhate pulled down a team-high nine rebounds to go with four points and four assists.
Carla Viegas provided a spark off the bench, knocking down two three-pointers and finishing with eight points and three rebounds.

SERIES HISTORY

Thursday marks the fourth meeting between Pitt and Stanford.
It will be the first matchup in Pittsburgh since Stanford joined the ACC in 2024.
The Cardinal lead the all-time series, 3-0.

SCOUTING THE CARDINAL

Stanford is led by Nunu Agara, who is nearly averageing a double-double with 14.5 points per game and 8.4 rebounds per game. Agara did not play in the Cardinal's last outing against Notre Dame.
Chloe Clardy (11.5 ppg), Courtney Ogden (11.3 ppg), Lara Somfai (9.9 ppg) and Hailee Swaim (9.2 ppg) round out Stanford's top scoring threats.
Alexandra Eschmeyer has recorded 28 blocks on the season.
Talana Lepolo paces Stanford in assists with 2.3 per game.
Stanford ranks fourth in the ACC in three-pointers made per game, averaging 7.5.
