PITTSBURGH – Pitt Lacrosse will make the short drive west on 376 to battle the Robert Morris Colonials Wednesday at Joe Walton Stadium. First draw in Moon Township is scheduled for 6 PM.
The Panthers and Colonials have faced off once in Pitt's four-year history, with the Panthers coming out on top last season at Highmark Stadium by a score of 19-2. Jenna Hendrickson led the offensive onslaught with six points (3G, 3A) and Sydney Naylor also put in an impressive shift on the attack with four goals of her own. Defender Natalie Voorhees anchored the Panther backline with two ground balls and two caused turnovers and goalie Molly Cain played just under 17 minutes without allowing a goal.
Robert Morris sits at 4-8 in 2025 and is coming off of a close loss to Central Michigan last time out, 11-10. Three Colonials have recorded 30+ points to pace the offense: Jenna Irwin 36 points (31G, 5A), Vivian LaMange 33 points (11G, 22A) and Mia Berthoff 32 points (20G, 12A). Goalie Sydney Riker has played the majority of minutes in the net, posting 61 saves and a .386 save percentage in that time.
Pitt has dropped back to back games against Top-15 opponents in losses to then No. 1 Boston College (18-6) and No. 11 Duke (14-10). The Panthers will look to rebound from those contests and conclude their non-conference slate with another victory to build off an impressive 5-1 record in those matchups to date. Hendrickson leads the way on the attack with 36 goals and nine assists and has scored at least three goals in five out of the last six games. Midfielder Kaitlyn Giandonato has been on another level as of late with 17 goals in that same time period. She is currently tied for best mark in the nation with a .675 shooting percentage.
