MOON TOWNSHIP, PA – Pitt Lacrosse closed out their strong year in the non-conference with a 15-4 win over Robert Morris 20 miles from Oakland. Wednesday night's victory pushed the Panther record out of the ACC to 6-1.
It took almost four minutes for the Panther offense to get going, but once it did there was no looking back. Leading scorer Jenna Hendrickson put the first to Pitt goals in the back of the net, the two tallies coming only 17 seconds apart. Kara Trullender assisted on Hendrickson's first and then Pitt's third and fourth goals, providing passes to Sydney Naylor and Avery Moon on those. After Robert Morris netted their first score of the night, the visitors converted on four more first quarter goals to stretch the lead to 8-1. Trullender scored her fifth of the season, Moon added two more for her hat trick, followed by Hendrickson's third of the evening.
The scoring slowed down in the second period of play, but Pitt was still in complete control, tallying the only three goals of the fifteen-minute quarter. Emily Coughlin got her ninth goal in 2025 before Hendrickson added goal number four and five in the game to give the Panthers the 11-1 lead at halftime.
The running clock was in effect the duration of the second half thanks to the ten plus goal lead that Pitt maintained the rest of the game. Naylor added a second goal on the evening thanks to freshman Gigi Leonzi's second assist of the campaign. Devon Cavanaugh followed the second Colonial goal with one of her own, her third of the season, before Hendrickson rifled her sixth of the game into the back of the net. Her six goals on the night tied the Panther single-game record that Maeve Murray set on February 28, 2023 against Canisius. Leonzi grabbed a second point on the night by scoring her third goal in 2025 to wrap up the scoring by the blue and gold in Wednesday's contest.
In addition to Hendrickson's big game, Trullender set a new career high with her five point performance (1G, 4A). All three Pitt goalies saw time in the cage, while only allowing four goals combined. Each goalkeeper also recorded a save with Shaye Gluckman recording four, Molly Cain two and Riley Patrick one. Aidan Carr picked up six draw controls, giving her the single-season program record with 75 total.
The Panthers have two remaining ACC games to close out the 2025 season, the fourth in Pitt's short history. First up is the final home game of the regular season Saturday, as the Panthers face No. 25 Notre Dame. First draw is set for 12 PM at Highmark Stadium. This year's seniors will be honored with a pregame ceremony prior to the conference clash. Admission is free for all fans.
