Reed Named ACC Pitcher of the Week

PITTSBURGH – Left-handed pitcher Ryan Reed was named the ACC's Pitcher of the Week this week for his performance in Pitt's 7-2 win over Miami on Friday night.
In his eighth start of the year, Reed threw seven shutout innings and helped Pitt split their doubleheader with a game two win on Friday against Miami. Reed struck out five and allowed just four base runners while he earned his third win of the season.
It's the second time this year that Reed has tossed seven scoreless innings in a start. The junior shutout Monmouth for seven innings earlier this season.
The Ridley Park, PA native has made 21 starts over 28 appearances in his three years with the program, amassing 101.1 innings pitched and 93 strikeouts. He is now just seven punchouts away from eclipsing the century mark for career strikeouts.
Reed and the Panthers get ready for another weekend of ACC play as they travel to Charlottesville, VA this weekend to take on Virginia.
