Pitt Hosts Miami, Will Play Doubleheader on Friday

PITTSBURGH - Due to inclement weather predicted this weekend, Pitt and Miami will begin their series with a doubleheader on Friday afternoon starting at 1 PM. Game two will start approximately 45 minutes following game one.
As of now, the series finale is still scheduled for Sunday at 1 PM.
Notes
• Pitt hosts Miami for their fourth ACC series of the year which will begin with a doubleheader on Friday afternoon for the second-straight week. The Panthers split their Friday doubleheader with Boston College last week.
• The Panthers took the series from the Hurricanes in Miami last season. They won the final two games of the series to clinch a spot in the ACC Tournament for their fourth-consecutive year in 2024.
• This season, Pitt has six comeback victories when trailing in the fifth inning or later. The Panthers came back in the eighth inning to win game one of Friday's doubleheader at Boston College.
•First baseman Luke Cantwell has recorded a hit in 17 out of Pitt's last 19 games. There have been just four games this season where he has been held hitless. Cantwell is hitting .406 with 43 hits, 23 RBI, 14 doubles and a triple this year. He is eighth in the country in doubles.
•LHP Ethan Firoved earned his sixth save of the year game one of Friday's doubleheader at Boston College. In eleven appearances this year, Firoved has a 1.84 ERA with one win and 38 strikeouts.
•Sophomore third baseman Ryan Zuckerman launched his ninth home run of the year in game one of last Friday's doubleheader at Boston College. Zuckerman is hitting .333 and leading the team in home runs (9), runs scored (27), RBIs (34) and slugging percentage (.653). He is second in hits (38) and doubles (12).
• The Panthers' offense ranks 5th in the ACC in hit by pitches and 7th in the base on balls.
•The Panthers added 22 newcomers to campus for the 2025 season. Among them are 16 transfers and 6 freshmen. Per 64Analytics, the Panthers landed a top-20 transfer portal recruiting class.
