Panthers Slated for a Pair of Meets

PITTSBURGH – This weekend, the majority of the Pitt Track & Field team will head to Charlottesville, Va. for the Virginia Challenge while a small contingent will compete in Winston-Salem, NC at the Wake Forest Invitational.
The Panthers will compete in the two-day Virginia Challenge for the fifth consecutive season. Field events kick off Friday morning with Norrah Lemongo in the women's hammer throw. Running events commence at 3:55 p.m. with five Panthers set to race in the women's 100-meter prelims. The following day, Samuell Guzman will get the field events going in the men's javelin at 10 a.m. At 1:50 p.m., Jana Bruses takes on the 100-meter hurdles to open the running events for the blue and gold.
All five Panthers running at the Wake Forest Invitational will compete on Friday. The men's 1500-meter races occur in the afternoon whereas the men's 5k heats have the night slot.
