CHESTNUT HILL, MA – Pitt Lacrosse will try for the upset bid Saturday when they travel north to meet the No. 1 Boston College Eagles. The ACC game at Alumni Stadium is scheduled for a 12 PM first draw.
The Panthers and Eagles have met each year of Pitt's existence, with Boston College prevailing every instance so far.
Pitt beat the Temple Owls 13-10 Tuesday thanks to a five-goal performance from Jenna Hendrickson, the second game in a row the senior has done so. The Panthers used a dominant draw control performance to maintain their lead throughout the game, including a program-record 15 by Aidan Carr. Paige Telatovich netted the first hat trick of her career and Gracie Kahoun caused four Owl turnovers, the most in a game in her career.
Boston College comes in to Saturday's ACC matchup the undisputed top-ranked team in the country, boasting a 12-0 overall record and 5-0 conference mark. The Eagle attack has been nothing short of explosive, with three players already over the 50-point mark: Rachel Clark 72 (56G, 16A), Emma LoPinto 60 (44G, 16A) and Mckenna Davis 55 (15G, 40). BC is leading the NCAA in points per game at a 28.25 per game clip and assists per game at 9.83. Goalie Shea Dolce has 97 saves and is leading the country in save percentage at .564.
After the battle with the Eagles, Pitt will return home to Highmark Stadium and host the Duke Blue Devils on April 5.
