
Schupansky Called Up for U23 Women's National Team Training Camp

PITTSBURGH – Former Pitt standout and two-time All-ACC selection Sarah Schupansky is among 24 players called up to the first U.S. U23 Women's National Team training camp of 2025 running from March 31-April 7 at Dignity Health Sports Park in Carson, Calif.
Schupansky has started both games in the NWSL season earning Player of the Match honors in a 1-1 draw with the Seattle Reign in her professional debut with FC Gotham on March 15.
The Pittsburgh native garnered United Soccer Coaches All-Atlantic Region and Second Team All-ACC recognition after leading the Panthers to a 9-6-3 record overall, including a 3-5-2 mark in the ACC, in 2024. She led the NCAA in assists (15) and assists per game (0.83), while also ranking tied for 34th in the country with 29 points (7 goals / 15 assists) and 22nd in points per game (1.61). She led the ACC and ranked ninth in the NCAA in shots on goal per game (2.33) and 16th in the nation in shots per game (4.22). Schupansky's postseason accolades also included College Sports Communicators (CSC) First Team Academic All-America® and CSC Academic All-District honors.
Schupansky matched a program record with four assists in a 6-1 win over Dartmouth (Sept. 5) and became the second player in Pitt history to record 100 career points during the 7-0 win over Mercyhurst (Sept. 8). She recorded two assists in Pitt's win over Syracuse (Oct. 13) to set the school single-season assists record (15). Schupansky had five multi-assist games on the season and tallied two or more points in a game eight times in 2024.
She also set the program record for career starts (78) in the regular season finale at Notre Dame (Oct. 31). Schupansky also set the school record for career assists (43) and finished her Pitt career ranked second in points, shots, and shots on goal.
The Futures Camp features a 24-player roster of players all age-eligible for this year's U23s – which are players born on or after Jan. 1, 2002 – and this roster has 11 players who were at the Futures Camp. In addition, three players who were at the Futures Camp – defender Avery Patterson, midfielder Claire Hutton and forward Michelle Cooper – are with the senior USWNT that will also be training at DHSP during the week in preparation for matches against Brazil on April 5 at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, Calif., and on April 8 at PayPal Park in San Jose, Calif.

The U-23 camp will be led by Lisa Cole, who is the lead WNT Player Pathway scout under Hayes. Both assistant coaches are also female in Heather Dyche, the head coach at the University of New Mexico, and current Orlando Pride assistant coach Yolanda Thomas. The goalkeeper coach will be Louis Hunt, a long-time U.S. YNT GK coach who was on the staff of the San Diego Wave for three seasons.
