Tournament Bid on the Line
The Panthers would clinch a spot in the 2025 Ally ACC Women's Basketball Tournament with a win Sunday and a Miami loss to Cal.
Historic Season Thus Far
In the second year under head coach Tory Verdi, Pitt has already recorded its highest win total (12) since the 2016-17 campaign and tied its second-most ACC wins (4) since joining the league.
Faye's Continues to Dominate
One of the premier post players in the conference, graduate center Khadija Faye tallied her ACC-leading 16th double-double of the year with 25 points and 10 rebounds in the loss to Syracuse. Of note, it marked her seventh-straight double-double. She has also scored 20+ points in six-straight games.
Johnson Finds Her Role
Redshirt sophomore guard Mikayla Johnson is growing into her role as the second option behind Faye.
Despite struggling from the field against Syracuse, Johnson has played her best basketball of the season lately - averaging 16.6 points per game, while shooting 13-of-29 (44.8 percent) from 3-point range over the last five games.
Additionally, over the last seven games, Johnson is shooting 18-for-18 from the free throw line. Her last miss from the charity stripe came against then-No. 19 Cal on Feb. 2.
