Individually, Faye led Pitt in the first half with nine points and six boards.
Pitt started the third quarter with a pair of layups from Johnson and Faye to regain the lead at 30-28. The two teams traded baskets for the following two minutes, before Florida State went on a 10-2 burst, going up seven with 2:20 left in the third period.
Faye opened the fourth quarter with a layup but a four minute and nine second Pitt scoring drought ensued as the Panthers trailed by 12 with just under five minutes remaining in the contest. Pitt continued to battle down the stretch but ultimately fell, 69-55.
