- Pitt returns to the mat with a road dual at Maryland on Saturday at noon. The match will be streamed on B1G+.
- The Panthers are coming off a strong weekend after earning dual wins over No. 14 Lehigh (12/5) and Bucknell (12/7).
- Pitt leads the all-time series against the Terrapins, 25-7, and have won eight of the last nine meetings dating back to Dec. 7, 2012.
- Pitt defeated Maryland, 28-12, last season at the Rider Quad Meet, winning six bouts and securing bonus points in four of them. Jared Keslar (165), Luca Augustine (174), and Mac Stout (197) each won by a technical fall to help pace the victory.
- Dylan Evans returns to the lineup after missing the previous two duals. He is slated to wrestle at 157 pounds, despite making the jump to 165 earlier this season.
- The Panthers improved to No. 16 in the latest edition of the NWCA Rankings after an exciting win at No. 14 Lehigh (12/5), and have five wrestlers ranking in the top 25 of the InterMat rankings: No. 11 Mac Stout (197), No. 17 Dayton Pitzer (285), No. 20 Kade Brown (149), No. 22 Dylan Evans (165), and Luca Augustine (174).
- Pitt returns two of their three ACC Champions from last season — All-American Mac Stout (197) and Dayton Pitzer (285) — and brings back six of eight NCAA Qualifiers back.
