Three Panthers Earn ACC Preseason Honors

PITTSBURGH – Jaime Pratt, Hallie Copperwheat and Layla Bobek were honored by the ACC heading into the 2026 season, the conference announced on Thursday. Pratt and Copperwheat were named to the Preseason Watch List, while Bobek was selected to the Newcomer List.
Pratt led the Panthers on bars last season, competing in the event at every meet. She shared the event title with Emily Todd against Kent State with a 9.875. Pratt also competed on vault in all but one meet and recorded a career-high 9.850 against Ohio State.
Copperwheat competed on bars, beam and floor in the first three meets of the 2025 season before taking a redshirt year and is ready to lead the Panthers in 2026. She was a 2023 NCAA Regional Qualifier on All-Around and impressed in EAGL competition, earning All-EAGL First Team in bars, beam and all-around and Second Team on floor. Copperwheat was also a four-time EAGL Gymnast and a NCAA Regional Qualifier on bars and beam in 2022.
Bobek comes to Pitt with an impressive high school resume. She was a 2025 regional beam and bars champion and placed fifth on beam at nationals in 2025. Bobek is a five-time National Qualifier, a 2024 Ohio State All-Around Champion, and 2024 champion on beam, bars and all-around.
Pitt begins its season on Jan. 11 at Texas Woman's University at 3 p.m. ET and will open its home slate against Cal on Jan. 18 at 4 p.m. ET.
