Pitt Hosts Texas A&M For ACC-SEC Challenge Tuesday

THE OPENING TIP

Coming off of a thrilling 67-66 win over Ohio State, Pitt welcomes Texas A&M to the Petersen Events Center Tuesday at 7 p.m. The two programs will meet for just the second time ever, dating back to a 79-62 Pitt victory in 1985.
The game will be televised on ESPNU with Jay Alter (pbp) and Randolph Childress (analysis) on the call.
The game will also be broadcast on the Panthers Radio Network (flagship 93.7 The Fan) with Bill Hillgrove (play-by-play) and Curtis Aiken (analysis) on the broadcast.
Texas A&M most recently dominated ACC foe Florida State 95-59. In terms of common opponents, both Pitt and Texas A&M have faced UCF this year. Pitt fell to the Knights 77-67 and Texas A&M lost 86-74.
Pitt is 5-1 at home this year, while Texas A&M is just 0-1 on the road, losing at Oklahoma State 87-63.

KANTE'S KICKS FOR KIDS

Pitt will hold a children's shoe drive Tuesday night against Texas A&M. This is a passion project created by Pitt forward Papa Amadou Kante to support children in his native Senegal.
Kante, who grew up in Dakar, Senegal, often went without shoes as a child, which led to painful blisters and other challenges. His experience inspired the creation of "Kante's Kicks For Kids", aimed at providing footwear to children in underserved communities.
Donation bins will be located at all Petersen Events Center entrances. Fan are encouraged to bring NEW youth shoes to drop off upon arrival.
The Pitt men's basketball team will pack the donated shoes and Pittsburgh-based Brother's Brother Foundation will generously ship the shoes to Senegal at no cost.
