Scouting the Golden Bears
• Cal earned the No. 12 seed in the tournament after finishing conference play with a 2-5-1 record.
• The Golden Bears are on a hot streak, closing the regular season with a 1-0 upset over No. 1 Stanford before defeating No. 3 seed Duke, 2-0, on the road in the first round of the ACC Championship.
Last Time Out (at Clemson)
A first-half strike from Lasse Dahl lifted the Pitt men's soccer team to a 1-0 victory over Clemson on Wednesday night in the opening round of the ACC Championship at Historic Riggs Field.
The Panthers broke through in the eighth minute when Tomas Bedouret slipped a pass to Dahl at the top of the box. Dahl took a touch and fired a low, driven shot into the bottom-right corner to give Pitt the early lead and a goal that would stand as the game-winner.
Pitt's back line absorbed consistent pressure from the Tigers throughout the match, fending off seven first-half shots to take the advantage into halftime. Goalkeeper Jack Moxom anchored the defense with five saves to preserve the clean sheet and secure the postseason win.
Up Next
