QUICK NOTES
- The Pitt wrestling team returns to action Saturday, November 8, with at dual meet at Buffalo at Alumni Hall. The match begins at 4 p.m. and will be streamed on ESPN+.
- Pitt and Buffalo will meet in dual action for the first time since 2023, and the first time in Buffalo since 2021. The Panthers have won the last three straight matchups and lead the all-time series 5-2. Pitt earned a dominant 37-0 victory over the Bulls in the last meeting on Jan. 13, 2023.
- No. 5 Mac Stout opened the season with a combined 5-0 record at the Navy dual and the Navy Classic. Stout earned ACC Wrestler of the Week honors after winning three of his five bouts by technical fall, highlighted by a commanding 20-4 tech fall over No. 6 Camden McDanel (Nebraska) in the finals of the Navy Classic to capture the 197-pound title.
- The Panthers opened the 2025-26 campaign with a dual meet win over Navy, 20-12, and followed with a second-place finish at the Navy Classic. Pitt had 10 Panthers place: one champion, three second-place finishes, three third-place finishes, two fourth-place finishes, one fifth place.
- Pitt is ranked at No. 20 in the NWCA Preseason Team Rankings and has eight Panthers ranked in the InterMat or FloWrestling individual rankings, including five in the Top 25.
- Pitt returns two of their three ACC Champions from last season — All-American Mac Stout (197) and Dayton Pitzer (285) — and brings back six of eight NCAA Qualifiers back.
