CLEMSON, S.C. - A first-half strike from sophomore forward Lasse Dahl lifted the Pitt men's soccer team to a 1-0 victory over Clemson on Wednesday night in the opening round of the ACC Championship at Historic Riggs Field.
The Panthers broke through in the eighth minute when redshirt senior midfielder Tomas Bedouret slipped a pass to Dahl at the top of the box. Dahl took a touch and fired a low, driven shot into the bottom-right corner to give Pitt the early lead — a goal that would stand as the game-winner.
Pitt's backline absorbed consistent pressure from the Tigers throughout the match, fending off seven first-half shots to take the advantage into the break. Junior goalkeeper Jack Moxom anchored the defense with five saves on the night to preserve the clean sheet and secure the postseason win.
With the result, Pitt earns just its third victory over Clemson in program history and advances to the ACC quarterfinals for the eighth consecutive season.
