Pitt’s Dickerson, Bernard Capture Knockout Showcase Titles

PITTSBURGH - Pitt's Rachel Dickerson and Noah Bernard claimed titles in the Knockout Showcase on Friday evening at Trees Pool.
Preliminary Round
The Panthers dominated the men's preliminary round, led by Bernard, who posted the top score of 372.95. Chase Marafioto followed with a 365.25, and Ethan Radio secured the third Pitt spot in the bracket with a 321.85. CMU's Nicholas Shuster also advanced.
On the women's side, Dickerson led the field with a 314.40, just ahead of teammate Jocelyn Brooks at 309.45. Duquesne's Ashley Felitsky and CMU's Clarissa Co earned the third and fourth seeds, respectively. Dickerson's winning prelim score qualified her for NCAA Zones, along with Pitt's Cassie Guerrera, who scored 287.95.
Knockout Bracket
In the men's quarterfinals, Marafioto matched up with Shuster while Bernard faced Radio. Each diver performed one dive per round, with the higher score earning a point; the first to three points advanced. Both Marafioto and Bernard moved on to the finals.
In the women's bracket, Brooks defeated Co in the semifinals, and Dickerson advanced after facing Guerrera, setting up an all-Pitt championship round.
Knockout Finals
Pitt completed a sweep on both sides as Dickerson and Bernard each secured three points in their respective final rounds to be crowned Knockout Champions.

Pitt Diving will head to Ohio for the Ohio State Fall Invite Nov.20-22, while swimming will travel to the Texas Swimming Invitational Nov. 19-21.
