Panthers Welcome Pitt-Johnstown for Exhibition Matchup Sunday

PITTSBURGH – The Pitt women's basketball team tips off its 2025-26 season Sunday afternoon with an exhibition matchup against Pitt-Johnstown at the Petersen Events Center.

The Opening Tip

Four players return from last year's roster, led by redshirt junior guard Mikayla Johnson, who averaged 10.9 points and 4.1 rebounds per game.
Last season featured several highlights for the Panthers, including the largest regulation comeback in NCAA history against SMU (Jan. 12).
- Pitt also posted its highest win total (13) since 2016-17 and recorded its second-most ACC victories (5) since joining the league.
The 2025-26 roster features seven freshmen, headlined by ESPNW HoopGurlz Top 100 recruits Nylah Wilson (No. 30, five-star) and Theresa Hagans Jr. (No. 99, four-star).
- Pitt also welcomed three transfers this offseason: Carla Viegas (Florida State), Fatima Diakhate (Georgia) and Angel Jones (Coppin State).
