
Panthers Welcome Pitt-Johnstown for Exhibition Matchup Sunday

PITTSBURGH – The Pitt women's basketball team tips off its 2025-26 season Sunday afternoon with an exhibition matchup against Pitt-Johnstown at the Petersen Events Center.

The Opening Tip
- Four players return from last year's roster, led by redshirt junior guard Mikayla Johnson, who averaged 10.9 points and 4.1 rebounds per game.
- Last season featured several highlights for the Panthers, including the largest regulation comeback in NCAA history against SMU (Jan. 12).
- Pitt also posted its highest win total (13) since 2016-17 and recorded its second-most ACC victories (5) since joining the league.
- The 2025-26 roster features seven freshmen, headlined by ESPNW HoopGurlz Top 100 recruits Nylah Wilson (No. 30, five-star) and Theresa Hagans Jr. (No. 99, four-star).
- Pitt also welcomed three transfers this offseason: Carla Viegas (Florida State), Fatima Diakhate (Georgia) and Angel Jones (Coppin State).

Fans can attend Sunday's exhibition free of charge; tickets will not be required for entry.
