SYRACUSE, NY – Pitt Lacrosse will travel to face their second-straight top-ten opponent Saturday, as the Panthers look for their first ACC win of the season against the No. 3 Syracuse Orange. The conference matchup is scheduled to start at 4 PM at CNS Stadium nearby the New York campus.
The Orange are heating up at the right time, as the winners of seven in a row have defeated four teams ranked in the top ten already this year. Third year Head Coach Kayla Treanor boasts a strong team that features a dangerous offense that includes three student-athletes with over 45 points: Olivia Adamson 56 (37G, 19A), Emma Ward 51 (26G, 25A) and Emma Tyrrell (40G, 9A). In the cage, goalie Delaney Sweitzer has mad 86 saves and has accumulated a .406 save percentage. Syracuse has defeated the Panthers in both meetings the past two seasons.
Pitt is coming off another non-conference win, this time over Central Michigan, that they won 18-3. Fifth year Camdyn O'Donnell and junior Jenna Hendrickson each recorded hat tricks Tuesday, and freshman Avery Moon notched a five-point performance with two goals and three assists of her own. Graduate goalie Audrey Moran stopped nine Chippewa shots, the sixth game this season that she has made at least eight saves.
Saturday's contest will be the last regular season game on the road for Pitt, before they host their final three games: Robert Morris (4/9), North Carolina (4/13) and Clemson (4/18). Follow all the Pitt Lacrosse action on social media: @Pitt_WLAX.
