Panthers Set Four Top Ten Program Times at Wake Forest Invitational

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – The Pitt distance group rewrote the program record books after securing numerous all-time top ten program times at the Wake Forest Invitational.
Luke Simpson hit the ground running in his section of the men's 1500-meter race. Simpson ran a time of 3:43.79 to take fifth overall. The Mars, Pa. native moved from tenth in the program record books to sixth with his new personal best time.
Finn Walsh came just shy of his personal best time, clocking in at 3:42.92 in the men's 1500-meter invite for 30th place. Walsh sits at second in program history with his time of 3:42.56 from 2023.
On the women's side, there were three new personal bests in the 5000-meter invite. Junior Winnie Incorvaia, 16:19.16, senior Sadie Carey-Tharp, 16:32.81, and junior Sydney Nowicki 16:42.31, all achieved new career bests. Incorvaia jumped from fifth to third in the program record books while Carey-Tharp inserted herself in sixth all-time.
Jack Miller had the highest program placement of the evening. Previously fourth in the record books, Miller went sub-14 minutes in the men's 5000-meter race with a time of 13:53.80 to finish 19th overall at the meet. The Jenkintown, Pa. native was just shy of Nick Wolk's school record pace of 13:53.02.
Junior Luke Miller was the next Panther to cross the line in the same race, recording a time of 14:08.61. Sam Otis clocked in at 14:23.60 and Luke Henseler rounded out the Panthers' lineup in 14:25.64.
