
Pitt Lacrosse Faces Off with No. 16 North Carolina Saturday

PITTSBURGH, PA – Pitt Lacrosse hosts their second to last regular season game Saturday, as No. 16 North Carolina visits Highmark Stadium. The game is set to start at noon.
The Panthers hold a 5-10 record and are still looking for their first ACC win. Last game, Pitt overwhelmed Robert Morris by a score of 19-2 with goals from 10 different players. Jenna Hendrickson recorded six points (3G, 3A), while Sydney Naylor and Ava Washington each scored three times. Maureen McNierney provided a boost across the field, as she put together the versatile stat line of one assist, two ground balls, three caused turnovers and two draw controls. Goalies Audrey Moran and Molly Cain combined for 11 saves in about 55 minutes of play.
North Carolina enters Saturday's contest ranked 16th nationally. The Tar Heels are coming off of a 13-9 conference win over the Virginia Tech Hokies and are 8-5 overall. Three Tar Heels have recorded over 35 points including: Ashley Humphrey with 49 (16G, 33A), Caitlyn Wurzburger with 39 (22G, 17A) and Alyssa Long with 36 (27G, 9A). Alecia Nicholas has played the majority of minutes in the net, making 55 saves with a .367 save percentage.
