
Duke Claims All-Around Title, Pitt Secures Second in WVU Quad

MORGANTOWN, WV – The University of Pittsburgh gymnastics team secured second place overall in the quad meet against West Virginia (195.000), Towson (196.325) and Western Michigan (194.625), Sunday afternoon at the WVU Coliseum. Pitt posted a 195.225 overall team score.
Sophomore Kennedy Duke secured the first place title in the All-Around as she posted a new career high 39.075.
FLOOR | 49.000
The Panthers started the afternoon off with their strongest rotation of the meet. Three Panthers earned a 9.800 or higher for their routines. Jordyn Ewing secured Pitt's highest score on the rotation – earning a 9.875. Jah'Liyah Bedminster posted a 9.850 while Emily Todd secured a 9.800. Duke earned a 9.775 for her routine.
VAULT | 48.700
Continuing the momentum, the Panthers posted a 48.700 team total on vault. Pitt saw three Panthers secure a 9.800 or higher on the rotation. Fifth year Shruthi Anand secured a 9.825 while Duke posted a 9.800. Bedminster anchored the event – earning a 9.800.
BARS | 48.900
Ewing earned the highest score on the third rotation – posting a 9.850 for her routine on bars. Bedminster wasn't far behind as she earned a 9.825 after sticking her dismount. Freshman Emily Todd posted a 9.775 while Duke earned a 9.750.
BEAM | 48.625
The Panthers finished the afternoon off with a team total of 48.625 on beam. Junior Hallie Copperwheat posted a 9.800 on beam to secure Pitt's highest score on the event. Duke completed her journey through all-around on beam – posting a 9.750. Todd earned a 9.725 for her routine.
