Six Panthers Set for Men’s NCAA Championships

PITTSBURGH – The Pitt men's swimming and diving team will have six student-athletes compete at the 2024 NCAA Men's Swimming and Diving Championships at the IU Natatorium in Indianapolis from March 27-30. The event is hosted by Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis and the Indiana Sports Corporation.
ACC Most Valuable Diver Cameron Cash (1-meter, 3-meter, platform), two-time ACC silver medalist Dylan Reed (1-meter, 3-meter), ACC Silver medalist Max Matteazzi (200 Breast, 200 IM, 400 IM), Daley Fraser (1-meter, 3-meter, platform), Stepan Goncharov (100 Back, 50 Free, 100 Free), and Jackson Salisbury (platform) will represent the Panthers in Indianapolis.
ESPN+ will provide live digital broadcast coverage for preliminary and finals sessions Wednesday through Saturday. Live results will be available on Meet Mobile and at this link.
Preliminary events will begin each day at 10 a.m. with the final sessions beginning at 6 p.m. Diving preliminary events will begin at noon each day with the consolation finals beginning at 5:15 p.m. and the final session starting at 6 p.m.
Cash enters the NCAA Championships as the current ACC Champion on both the 3-meter and the platform. Cash became the first Pitt diver to win an ACC title since 2017 and shattered school records in both the 3-meter and the platform. Cash also broke the Princeton facility record at the NCAA Diving Zone Championships.
Reed secured two silver medals in the 1-meter and the 3-meter and now has the second most medals won by a Panther at the ACC Championships in their career with four total medals. Fraser and Salisbury will make their first NCAA appearances. Fraser will compete on all three events while Salisbury will compete on platform.
Goncharov was selected to compete in the 100 back and was invited to the 50 and 100 free competitions. This will be Goncharov's second appearance at the NCAA Championships after competing in the 400 free relay last year as a freshman. The Tosno, Russia native crushed the 100 back school record at ACC Championships – placing fourth overall with his time of 45.44.
Matteazzi put his name on the Psych Sheet for the 400 IM after securing the 25th time in the country (3:42.38). He was also invited to compete in the 200 IM and 200 breast. At the 2024 ACC Championships, the Vincenza, Italy native secured the silver medal in the 400 IM after finishing with his time of 3:42.38.

- Finals: 400-yard individual medley, 6 p.m.
- Consolation Finals: 100-yard backstroke, 6 p.m.
- Finals: 100-yard backstroke, 6 p.m.
- Finals: Three-meter diving, 6 p.m.
Saturday, March 30:
- Trials: 100-yard freestyle, 10 a.m. ET
- Trials: 200-yard breaststroke, 10 a.m. ET
- Trials: Platform diving, Noon
- Consolation Finals: Platform diving, 5:15 p.m.
- Consolation Finals: 100-yard freestyle, 6 p.m.
- Finals: 100-yard freestyle, 6 p.m.
