PITTSBURGH – The Pitt women’s basketball team (8-21, 2-14 ACC) heads to the sunshine state Thursday night for a conference battle with the Miami Hurricanes inside the Watsco Center in Coral Gables, FL. Thursday’s game will tip at 6:00 pm and air on ACC Network Extra.

THE OPENING TIP
- Pitt stays on the road Thursday night as they head south to battle the Miami Hurricanes in an ACC tilt. Thursday’s game will tip at 6:00 pm and air on ACC Network Extra.
- Senior Liatu King has been the best player on the floor for Pitt all year long. Last time out at #17 Syracuse, she exploded for 29 points and 10 rebounds and her 16th double-double of the season. She is the only player in the NCAA this season to average at least 19.0 points, 10.4 rebounds, 1.8 steals and 1.6 blocks per game.
- King ranks inside the top-5 in the ACC in multiple categories including fifth in scoring (19.0 ppg), second in rebounding (10.4 rpg), third in offensive rebounds (3.5 orpg), third in blocks (1.6 bpg), third in field goal percentage (53.7%), second in minutes played (35.6 mpg) and second in double-doubles (16).
- Junior sharpshooter Bella Perkins has given the Panthers a big boost over the last four games as she has connected on multiple triples in all four games. Over her last four games, Perkins is averaging 12.8 points and 2.8 rebounds while shooting 44.8% from deep.
- The Pitt duo of Liatu King and Rapuluchi Ayodele are one of two in the NCAA this season (Angel Reese, Aneesah Morrow, LSU) to each have at least 88 total offensive rebounds.

PERKINS COMING ALIVE
- Junior guard Bella Perkins has shown flashes of becoming a big time player for the Panthers and they will rely on that down the stretch of the regular season.
- So far this season, Perkins is averaging 7.3 points and 1.7 rebounds while connecting on a team-high 45 three-pointers.
- Last time out, Perkins came off the bench and netted 11 points and three rebounds while connecting on three triples in the loss to #17 Syracuse.
- In the road win over Clemson, Perkins came off the bench and netted 16 points and three rebounds while draining four three-pointers in 31 minutes of work. Her timely buckets in the fourth quarter helped lead Pitt to victory.
- Perkins now has a career-high 10 games scoring in double figures this season including in three of her last four games.
- Over her last four games, Perkins is averaging 12.8 points and 2.8 rebounds while connecting on 44.8% of her three-point attempts (13-for-29). She has came off the bench in all four games while hitting multiple triples in each contest.
- She has connected on multiple three-pointers in a team-high 14 games this season including draining a season-best four triples in three games (Lehigh, UNC, Clemson).
- Earlier this season in the win over Lehigh, Perkins went off for a career-high 22 points, five assists, three steals and three rebounds while going 7-for-15 from the floor and 4-for-7 from behind the arc.
- She has a career-high nine games with multiple assists and three games with multiple steals on the year.
MORE NOTES
SERIES HISTORY – MIAMI
- This meeting marks the 36th of all-time between the two programs with Miami owning the 26-9 lead in the series.
- The Hurricanes have won nine straight in the series with Pitt’s last win coming on Feb. 1, 2015 in Pittsburgh, 81-66.
- Pitt is just 1-16 all-time in games played in Miami with their lone road win in the series coming on Feb. 2, 1994 by the score of 59-53.
- Miami won last seasons meeting in Pittsburgh by the score of 74-67.
SCOUTING THE HURRICANES
- Miami enters Thursday’s game with a 17-10 overall record and a 7-9 ACC mark after downing Clemson 56-50 on the road Sunday afternoon.
- Shayeann Day-Wilson is leading the Hurricanes offense as she is averaging 11.7 points, 3.6 assists and 2.6 rebounds while shooting 37.1% from behind the arc and draining a team-high 52 triples. Jasmyne Roberts is enjoying a strong season as she is averaging 11.3 points and 4.9 rebounds while recording a team-high 44 steals.
- Lazaria Spearman is leading the team in rebounding (5.8 rpg) while Jaida Patrick is averaging 8.0 points and 4.4 rebounds to go along with 40 steals on the season.
- As a team, the Hurricanes are averaging 67.8 points per game while allowing opponents to score just 60.8 points per contests. Miami is also shooting 43.9% from the floor as a team while grabbing an average of 38.1 rebounds per game.
LAST TIME OUT – AT #17 SYRACUSE
- The Panthers held the lead for over 31 minutes against the #17 Orange on the road Sunday but couldn’t hold on, falling 63-53.
- The Orange completely dominated the Panthers in the fourth quarter, outscoring Pitt 22-4 to secure their 23rd win of the season.
- Liatu King did all she could Sunday as she had a monster double-double with 29 points, 10 rebounds, two assists and two steals in 38 minutes of work. It marked her 11th game this season with 20+ points for the Panthers.
- Off the bench, Bella Perkins had another strong game as she netted 11 points and three rebounds while connecting on three triples in the loss.
- As a team, Pitt shot 35.1% from the floor while being limited to just 17.6% from behind the arc. The Orange won the rebounding battle 42-37 while also connecting on 18 free throws in the win.
SEEING DOUBLE-DOUBLES
- So far this season, Pitt players have combined to record 22 double-doubles. It marks the most in a single season by Pitt players since joining the ACC in 2013-14.
- The 22 double-doubles also ranks second most by a team in the ACC this season behind Virginia Tech (28).
- Four different Panthers have secured at least one double-double this season (King, Jordan, Ayodele, Washenitz). It marks the first time Pitt had four different players earn a double-double in the same season since 2016-17.
- King is leading the way with a career-high 16 double-doubles on the season. She currently ranks second in the ACC and ninth in the NCAA in double-doubles.
- She also has three games this season which she missed a double-double by either one rebound or one point.
- The 16 double-doubles are the most in a season by a Pitt player since Chelsea Cole (16) in 2010-11. She has posted the second most double-doubles in a single season by a Pitt player in the past 40 years.
- Her 16 double-doubles through the first 29 games of the season are the most by a Pitt player in program history.
- For her career, King has now recorded 26 double-doubles (points + rebounds).
- She ranks tied for second among Pitt players in career double-doubles over the past 40 seasons (Marcedes Walker - 51, Chelsea Cole - 26, King - 26).
- Jordan has posted a career-high three double-doubles on the season after earning just one in her previous four seasons of college basketball.
