PITTSBURGH—The Pitt wrestling team aims for its first Atlantic Coast Conference dual victory of the season when the Panthers meet Duke on Friday night at Cameron Indoor Stadium in Durham, N.C.
The Panthers (7-6, 0-1 ACC), ranked 19th in the NWCA Coaches Poll this week, make the first of three trips to the state of North Carolina in quick succession for the dual with the Blue Devils (4-9, 0-1).
The 7 p.m. matchup will be streamed live on the ESPN app via ACC Network Extra, which requires a subscription to a streaming or cable service that provides the ACC Network.
Pitt's probable lineup includes seven ranked wrestlers this week, led by 184-pounder Reece Heller, who is 13-4 on the season and moved into the top 10 of the InterMat polls and came in at No. 9 this week after a big victory over No. 7 Dylan Fishback of NC State last Friday night at the Fitzgerald Field House.
Holden Heller at 165 pounds and Mac Stout at 197 pounds are both ranked 15th this week in their respective weight classes, while reigning ACC Wrestler of the Week Cole Matthews (No. 22 at 141), Vinnie Santaniello (No. 23 at 133), Finn Solomon (No. 28 at 149) and Luca Augustine (No. 21 at 174) are also ranked for head coach Keith Gavin and the Panthers.
Colton Camacho at 125 pounds, Jared Keslar at 157 pounds and Geoff Magin at heavyweight are unranked starters for Pitt but could get their season results back to the .500 mark with wins at Duke.
The Panthers are 10-0 in the all-time wrestling series with the Blue Devils, including a lopsided 43-3 victory last season in Pittsburgh over Duke.
