PITTSBURGH – Pitt standout Chloe Minas signed a professional contract to join Växjö DFF in Damallsvenskan, the top flight in Sweden, through the end of the 2025 season. Minas, a midfielder from Montréal, Québec, started 68 of 76 matches at Pitt accumulating 11 points (1 goal, 9 assists) in 5,387 minutes of game time.
"I'm grateful to join Växjö DFF and to be part of such a competitive environment," said Minas. "It's an honor to represent a club with strong values and a clear vision for the future. I'm looking forward to giving my best to help the team succeed!"
Minas, a two-time CSC Academic All-District pick and Academic All-ACC selection, totaled one goal and two assists this season from her defensive midfield position. A four-year team captain, she helped lead the team to a pair of NCAA Tournament appearance including an NCAA Elite 8 finish in 2023. She tied the program record for most games played in a season and consistently achieved over an 80% passing accuracy.
"Chloe is exactly the type of signing we want to make now. She has been the team captain and has real weight in her way of playing and will make sure that we become a little tougher and more serious, both in training and matches," said
Växjö DFF sports director and head coach Olof Unogård. "I think she will fit in perfectly with what we want to do, both on and off the field, and will be an important piece of the puzzle in the team's and not least the midfield's balance."
Minas was active with the Pitt Student-Athletic Advisory Committee throughout her career, while also serving as ACC SAAC Vice Chair and ACC SAAC Executive Board.
In addition to playing at Pitt, Minas was a member of Canada's U20 Team and played at the International Series in England. She was also captain of Team Québec and played for semi-pro C.S. Monteuil prior to university.
