
Schupansky Named CSC First Team Academic All-America®

PITTSBURGH – Pitt standout Sarah Schupansky added to her collection of postseason accolades as College Sports Communicators (CSC) announced Wednesday the 2024 Division I Academic All-America® women's soccer team. The Pittsburgh, Pa., native was named First Team Academic All-America® in 2024 after earning third team honors a year ago.
Schupansky garnered United Soccer Coaches All-Atlantic Region and Second Team All-ACC recognition after leading the Panthers to a 9-6-3 record overall, including a 3-5-2 mark in the ACC. She led the NCAA in assists (15) and assists per game (0.83), while also ranking tied for 34th in the country with 29 points (7 goals / 15 assists) and 22nd in points per game (1.61). She lead the ACC and ranked ninth in the NCAA in shots on goal per game (2.33) and 16th in the nation in shots per game (4.22).
Schupansky matched a program record with four assists in a 6-1 win over Dartmouth (Sept. 5) and became the second player in Pitt history to record 100 career points during the 7-0 win over Mercyhurst (Sept. 8). She recorded two assists in Pitt's win over Syracuse (Oct. 13) to set the school single-season assists record (15). Schupansky has five multi-assist games on the season and has tallied two or more points in a game eight times in 2024.
She also set the program record for career starts (78) in the regular season finale at Notre Dame (Oct. 31). She also set the school record for career assists (43) and will finish her Pitt career ranked second in career points, shots, and shots on goal.
Fourteen of the 33 members of the Academic All-America® Division I women's soccer teams boast a perfect 4.0 GPA in their undergraduate work or graduate school. The 12 members of the first team have an average GPA of 3.93, with the entire Division I team holding a collective average GPA of 3.92.
Anna Haddock (Auburn) and Maddy Anderson (Mississippi State) were both three-time Academic All-America® selections, earning third team honors in both 2021 and 2022. Schupansky along with six other student-athletes join them as a repeat selection on the Academic All-America® Division I team, Jasmine Aikey (Stanford), Jen Blitchok (Western Michigan), Georgia Brown (South Florida), Matea Diekema (SIU Edwardsville), Justina Gaynor (Michigan State), Jade Rose (Harvard).
