
Panthers Post Six Top 50 Times in LCM Meet Against Minnesota

PITTSBURGH – The Pitt swimming and diving team wrapped up the weekend against Minnesota with a long-course meters meet at Trees Pool, Saturday morning. The Panthers posted six top 50 times in their final home meet of the season.
Max Matteazzi posted the 10th fastest time in the nation by swimming a 2:01.01 in the 200 IM while Fifth-year Adam Mahler posted a strong swim in the 200 Fly with a time of 2:02.82, currently marking the 23rd fastest time in the nation. Seniors Marcin Goraj and Sophie Yendell each posted top 40 times in the nation. Goraj swam a time of 2:05.47 in the 200 Back (30th fastest in the nation and Yendell swam a 26.20 in the 50 Free (39th fastest in the nation).
Fifth-year Jerry Chen swam a 1:03.90 in the 100 Breast, currently tying for the 50th fastest time in the nation. Fifth-year Maddie London (1:13.22) finished first in the 100 Breast while sophomore Jessica Strong came in second (1:14.35).
In the 100 Back, freshman Jensen Nelson finished first with a time of 57.75 – good for the 47th fastest time in the nation. Junior Krzysztof Radziszewski finished third in the event with a time of 58.42. Sophomore Stepan Goncharov posted the 50th fastest time with a time of 51.51 in the 100 Free.
Freshman Sydney Gring (1:02.38) and sophomore Drew Jalbert (56.18) kicked off the meet with strong swims in the 100 Fly.
