
Pitt Women’s Soccer Set to Host Boston College Saturday Night

PITTSBURGH – The University of Pittsburgh women's soccer team welcomes the Boston College Eagles to Ambrose Urbanic Field on Saturday, Sept. 30 at 7 PM.

THE SERIES
- Saturday's matchup will be the 16th overall meeting between the two programs.
- Boston college holds the 11-3-1 edge to Pitt in the program history series.
- The last time out, the Panthers tied the Eagles 1-1.
SCOUTING THE EAGLES
- The Boston College Eagles fell to No. 8 Clemson 2-0 on Sunday afternoon.
- Clemson was able to capitalize on corner kicks to take the 2-0 lead on the Eagles.
- Wiebke Willebrant secured one save on Sunday, totaling 90 minutes at the net.
- Boston College has yet to secure an ACC win this season after being defeated by Clemson, Virginia Tech and Duke.
RECCAPING SUNDAY'S ACC MATCHUP
- The Panthers completed their ACC home opener against No. 10 Notre Dame with a 1-1 draw on Sunday afternoon.
- At the 82nd minute, freshman Deborah Abiodun headed the ball into the back of the net off of Keera Melenhorst's corner kick, completing the equalizer.
- Just moments before the end of the 90 minutes of play, Samiah Phiri posted a strong shot at the bottom right of the net, trying to take the lead for Pitt, but was saved by Notre Dame.
- Pitt completed the matchup with 15 shots, seven shots on goal, and 12 corner kicks.
