
No. 21 Pitt Welcomes City Neighbor Duquesne to Ambrose Urbanic Field

PITTSBURGH – The No. 21 undefeated Pitt Panthers (4-0-0, 0-0-0 ACC) welcome the Duquesne Dukes (1-3-0, 0-0-0) to Ambrose Urbanic Field on Thursday, Aug. 31 at 7:00 p.m. for a city battle.
The first 300 fans who attend the matchup will receive a free "Our City" t-shirt.

THE SERIES
- Thursday's matchup with the Dukes will be the 16th overall meeting between the two Pittsburgh programs.
- The Panthers currently hold an 11-4 lead to the Dukes with Pitt's longest winning streak being an eight-game streak from 1998 to 2014.
SCOUTING THE DUQUESNE
- The Duquesne Dukes fell to the West Virginia Mountaineers Sunday afternoon in a 1-0 shutout.
- Junior goalkeeper Maddy Neundorfer stopped five shots in her 90-minutes of play – keeping the game tight.
- Sophomore forward Maya Matesa is leading the Dukes in points this season with two goals and an assist, totaling 263 minutes.
RECAPPING SUNDAY'S SHUTOUT
- The No. 21 Pitt Panthers executed their second shutout of the season, 5-0, against the Bucknell Bisons on Sunday afternoon at Ambrose Urbanic Field.
- Pitt held a tough 32-2 shots, 21-1 shots on goal, 9-0 corner kicks and an overall 74% possession total.
- Junior Sarah Schupanksy was named ACC Offensive Player of the Week (8/29) and PNC Achiever of the Week (8/30) for her impressive work on the pitch this past week.
NEWCOMERS RECORD FIRST CAREER POINTS
- Defender Lainie Fuchs earned her first collegiate goal at Thursday's matchup with Kent State. Fuchs headed in her goal off Schupanksy's beautifully directed corner kick.
- Midfielder Deborah Abiodun totals three career points after an assist against Drexel and her first career goal last Sunday versus Bucknell. Abiodun's header goal was completed after Keera Melenhorst's free kick assist.
