No. 21 Pitt Women’s Soccer Meets Kent State

PITTSBURGH – The No. 21 Pitt women's soccer team (2-0-0, 0-0-0 ACC) is set to travel to Kent State, Ohio to take on the Golden Flashes (1-0-1) Thursday evening at Zoeller Field at Dix Stadium with the first kick slated for 7:00 p.m.

THE SERIES
- Thursday's matchup marks the 10th meeting of all-time between the two programs with Panthers holding a 5-2-2 lead.
- The Panthers dominated the last meet up with the Golden Flashes – leaving Kent State scoreless in a 7-0 win.
SCOUTING THE GOLDEN FLASHES
- The Golden Flashes forced a 1-1 draw with Colgate at home last Sunday afternoon. This matchup broke their program record for attendance.
- The game was scoreless a half-hour in with strong defense and goalkeeping skills, but the Colgate Raiders took the lead at the 34th minute.
- Josie Morgan put one in the back of the net at the 72nd minute to equalize the score with the Raiders. This was Morgan's second goal of her collegiate career.
- Kent State produced an overall advantage in shots (12-11), shots on goal (5-4) and corner kicks (5-4).
RECAPPING LAST WEEK'S WIN
- The Panthers opened their home slate with an impressive 4-1 victory over the Drexel Dragons Sunday afternoon in front of 657 fans at Ambrose Urbanic Field.
- The scoring started right away for Pitt on Sunday as Schupansky netted her first of the game in the eighth minute after a couple of nice passes from Ashton Gordon and Chloe Minas set her up and she beat the keeper to the lower left corner.
- With the win, Pitt has won all six of head coach Randy Waldrum's home openers since taking over the program.

- The Panthers will return to Ambrose Urbanic Field to host the Bucknell Bisons on Sunday, Aug. 27 at 1:00 p.m.
