PITTSBURGH—University of Pittsburgh Director of Athletics Heather Lyke announced today a head coaching change for the Pitt gymnastics program, which had been led the past six seasons by Samantha Snider.
"On behalf of our entire department, I want to convey my deepest appreciation to Coach Snider for her passionate commitment to Pitt gymnastics," Lyke said. "We wish Samantha the very best in her future pursuits.
"Watching the NCAA Gymnastics Regional Championships at the Petersen Events Center this past weekend only reinforced my belief that our program can be a major contender in the ACC and nationally. As we anticipate the completion of new training and competition venues as part of Victory Heights, the potential for Pitt gymnastics has never been higher. We will conduct the search for our next head coach immediately and I expect the opportunity to attract national interest."
