PITTSBURGH, PA – Sophomore Ava Washington recorded three goals and senior Camdyn O'Donnell added a goal and an assist as Pitt fell to eighth-ranked Notre Dame, 17-6, Friday evening at Highmark Stadium.

Notre Dame came out of the gates strong blanking the Panthers 8-0 in the opening quarter. The Fighting Irish scored on eight of 12 shots in the opening 15 minutes to jump on top early.

Jill Fenech ended the Notre Dame scoring run with her seventh goal of the season off a diagonal pass from Kara Trullender with 8:30 left in the half. Camdyn O'Donnell took a feed from Talia Zuco and ripped a side angle shot into the upper corner of the cage for her 19^th goal of the season with 2:25 left before the break. The Panthers trailed 12-2 at intermission, while playing to a draw off the draw control in the opening 30 minutes.

Ava Washington opened the second half scoring with her 17^th goal of the season scooping up her own rebound in front of the net and beating the Irish goalie high side with a quick stick finish. Washington tacked on her second goal of the day at the 5:32 mark taking a pass from behind the cage by O'Donnell on a left wing dive and slotting the shot into the upper right corner of the net. Notre Dame recovered to score the final three goals of the quarter to push the margin to 15-4.

Dylana Williams added a Panther goal at the 9:03 mark in the fourth grabbing a low crossing pass from Molly Carter and finding the back of the net with a quick wrist flick finish. Washington completed her hat trick with a free position goal with just under six minutes remaining in the contest.

Notre Dame outshot the Panthers 39-16, and won the draw by a 16-11 margin. Madison Ahern tallied six goals and an assist, while Kasey Choma had six points (4 G, 2 A). Jackie Wolak added a hat trick with two assists as the Fighting Irish top scoring trio combined for 13 goals and five assists on the night.

Pitt concludes the regular season Thursday, April 20 at Clemson.
