
Panthers Complete CMU Last Chance Invitational & Bison Classic

PITTSBURGH—The University of Pittsburgh track and field team competed at Carnegie Mellon University on Thursday for the CMU Last Chance Invitational. The Panthers competed across 17 events and saw 35 student-athletes in action. In addition, a limited squad competed at Bucknell University on Saturday and Sunday for the Bison Classic. The panthers participated in 4 events and saw 10 student athletes.

Results
- Junior Otoniel Badjana took home first place with a PR in the men's shot put with a mark of 17.57m. He is currently second-best in program history. In addition, Badjana earned first place with a PR in the men's discus with a mark of 53.31m. He is currently third-best in program history.
- In the women's 100m hurdles, Folake Olujide-Ajibade recorded a first-place finish with a time of 13.84 to earn the seventh-best time in program history.
- Claire Hoffman notched a first-place finish in the women's 800m with a time of 2:10.58. Hoffman holds the tenth-best time in program history. On the men's side, Jack Balick collected first place with a time of 1:51.62.
- Sophomore Daniel Amaya claimed a PR in the men's hammer throw with a mark of 62.00. Amaya remains third-best in program history. On the women's side, Foluke Olujide-Ajibade placed first with a mark of 56.54m. Niya Crawford recorded a second-place finish to secure a PR and the ninth-best mark in program history.
- In the women's high jump, Eva Baldursdottir and Lydia Bottelier tied for first place with a mark of 1.70m, while Alesia Rengle claimed third.
- Senior Clement Campbell came in first in the men's long jump with a mark of 7.48m.
- Freshman Uri Arnon placed first with a mark of 14.17m in the men's triple jump.
- Back on the track, Raymond Oriakhi collected a first-place finish with a time of 53.84 in the men's 400m hurdles.
- In the women's 100m, Freshman Aleksandra Stoilova placed first with a time of 11.84 and Imani Clark earned second with a time of 11.90.
- Nikki Scherer took home first place in the women's 200m with a time of 24.21 and first place in the women's 400m with a time of 54.91.
Results
- Sadie Carey-Tharp finished fourth place with a time of 10:31.64 in the women's 3000m steeplechase. She remains fourth best in program history. Gianna Caglioa recorded a time of
11:11.98 to secure 19th place. Caglioa collected the tenth best time in program history. - In the men's 1500, Luke Simpson notched 31st place with a time of 3:50.61. On the women's side, Reagan Flannery was the first to cross the finish line for the Panthers by claiming 38th place with a time of 4:36.95.
