LEADING OFF
- Pitt softball travels to the University of Memphis to compete at the Memphis Tournament, March 10-12. The Panthers' game against Memphis will be broadcasted on ESPN+. All games against other opponents will not be streamed.
- The Panthers will play five games over the three-day tournament, facing off against all three teams for the first time. Pitt kicks off the weekend with a double-header Friday against Indiana State (12 p.m.) and North Alabama (2:30 p.m.). Pitt will play two games Saturday against North Alabama (12:30 p.m.) and Memphis (ESPN+ - 5:30 p.m.) before concluding Sunday against Indiana State (12 p.m.).
- Pitt is 11-6 through the first month of play. Five of the Panthers' wins have come by four or more runs, including two wins by eight or more runs. Five of their six losses have been decided by three or fewer runs.
- The Panthers have out-hit their opponents in 12 of 17 games this season, including outhitting the FIU Panthers 21-12 over two games Feb. 17-18.
- Pitt begins their season with six-straight trips on the road. The Panthers have traveled to Clearwater, Fla., Miami, Fla., Houston, Texas. The Panthers open ACC play at Louisville March 17-19.
- After finishing towards the bottom of the ACC in most of the major statistical categories in 2022, the Panthers have made a turnaround on the young season.
- Through 17 games, Pitt ranks third in the ACC and 18th in the nation in stolen bases per game (2.35).
- The Panthers rank eighth in the ACC in batting average (.291) and sixth in on-base percentage (.386).
- After hitting 35 doubles through 41 games in 2022, Pitt has already hit 32 doubles this season. The Panthers rank third in the ACC and 23rd in NCAA in doubles (32) and are second in the ACC and 11th in the NCAA in doubles per game (1.88).
- Sarah Seamans has had a strong start to her final year in the Blue & Gold. Seamans ranks second in the ACC in batting average (.453), third in on-base percentage (.532) and slugging percentage (.811), fourth in hits (24), tied sixth in home runs (5), and sixth in total bases (43).
- Kat Rodriguez is batting .250 (11-for-44) with six of her hits going for doubles. She is tied for fifth in the ACC in doubles (6) and third in the ACC in doubles per game (0.29)
