Pitt Completes Regular Season Road Journey
MORGANTOWN, WV – The University of Pittsburgh gymnastics team (10-14, 2-4 EAGL) fell to the Mountaineers 197.325 and the Chippewas 196.500 on Sunday afternoon at the WVU Coliseum.
The Panthers posted their season-high road score with their 196.125 overall. Freshman Reyna Garvey earned the first-place title overall for her performance on beam. Sophomore Hallie Copperwheat claimed the second-place title in the all-around – scoring a 39.400.
BARS
Pitt started the afternoon on bars – earning a 48.825 team score. Freshman Natalia Pawlak posted the highest score for the team on bars – securing a 9.825. Copperwheat posted a 9.850 en route to the all-around – earning the second-place title overall. Junior Faith Lerro anchored the event - earning a career-high with her score of 9.750.
BEAM
Continuing her route to the all-around, Copperwheat posted a 9.875 for her routine on beam. Senior Christina Weiss matched her career-high – earning a 9.775. Garvey secured the first-place title on beam– posting a 9.925. Kendall Foy earned a career-high score of 9.825 for her routine. Pitt earned their highest rotation score of the afternoon – securing a 49.175.
FLOOR
Pitt posted strong routines in the third rotation – scoring a 49.00 overall. Senior Nay'yarrah Winder scored a 9.875 – matching her career high. Copperwheat earned a 9.875 for her routine to continue her journey to the all-around. Garvey anchored the event for Pitt – posting a 9.850.
VAULT
The Panthers continued their momentum into the last rotation of the afternoon. Seniors Ciara Ward and Weiss posted a 9.825 for their performance on vault. Freshman Kennedy Duke matched her career-high 9.900 – earning the second-place title overall. Copperwheat completed the all-around – securing the second-place title with her 39.400 overall. Pitt finished the final rotation with a 49.125 overall.

The Panthers are set to host LIU as they return to the Fitzgerald Field House for the final regular-season home meet of the campaign. On Friday, March 10 at 7 p.m., Pitt will honor their senior members of the team on Senior Night.
