LOUISVILLE, KY – The Pitt women's lacrosse team hits the road for their second road trip of the season to play the Louisivlle Cardinals Sunday at 4 p.m. at L&N Stadiium.
Earlier this week, the Panthers hosted Canisius at Highmark Stadium and came out on top with a 16-8 win over the Golden Griffins. Sophomore Maeve Murray set a new program, single-game record for goals with six. Eight other Panthers scored including graduate Molly Carter and sophomore Jill Fenech adding two each. Goalies Hannah Van Middelem and Molly Cain combined for 11 saves in the net to help anchor the blue and gold defense.
The Cardinals come into the weekend with the same record as the Panthers, 3-2 and 0-1 in the ACC. They have already defeated one ranked opponent, when they took down #25 Colorado 12-5. Senior Nicole Perroni leads the way in points with 15 and Junior Sara Addeche has made 35 saves in goal.
In 2022, Pitt defeated Louisville at Highmark Stadium for their first ACC win and later defeated the Cardinals again in the ACC Championship.
Sunday's matchup also marks a joint effort between the two ACC programs to celebrate Pride. The teams will wear coordinated warmup shirts and other programming will take place at L&N Stadium. The game can be viewed on the ACC Network or streamed here.
