Pittsburgh to Host NCAA Women’s Gymnastics Regionals

PITTSBURGH - The University of Pittsburgh is set to host its first NCAA Women's Gymnastics Regional Championships in the Petersen Events Center on March 30 – April 2, 2023.
During the National Collegiate Women's Gymnastics Selection Show on Monday, March 20, the NCAA announced the regional selections during which Pitt learned which teams and individuals will travel to Pittsburgh for the four-day event.
Three Panthers earned a spot in the first session of the NCAA Regional Second Round on Friday, March 31, at 2 p.m. including sophomore Hallie Copperwheat (All-Around), and freshmen Reyna Garvey (Beam), and Natalia Pawlak (Bars).
SCHEDULE OF EVENTS
The top two teams in the NCAA Regional Final on Sunday, April 2, will advance to the NCAA National Championships in Fort Worth, Texas, on April 13-15.
Individual all-around competitors competing in Regionals are Penn State's Ava Piedrahita and Jaddie Johnston, and Pittsburgh's Hallie Copperwheat.
Individual Event Specialists include Bowling Green's Katrina Mendez Abolnik (Vault); Eastern Michigan's Ella Chemotti (Beam); Penn State's Cassidy Rushlow (bars); Pittsburgh's Reyna Garvey (beam), Natalia Pawlak (bars); Temple's Brooke Donabedian (floor), Renee Schugman (floor); Towson's Polina Belanovski (vault), Isabella Minervini (bars), Grace Vaillancourt (bars); UC Davis' Keanna Abraham (vault, floor), Megan Ray (vault, floor); Utah State's Brianna Brooks (bars), Sofi Sullivan (beam).
