Pitt Gymnastics to Face Host Towson, Temple, NC State
PITTSBURGH – The University of Pittsburgh gymnastics team (8-7, 1-0 EAGL) will travel to Towson, MD for a the EAGL Quad meet against Temple, NC State and Towson at the SECU Arena on Friday, Feb. 10 at 6 p.m.

LAST TIME OUT
- Pitt topped the Air Force Falcons and George Washington Colonials but fell to No. 8 Denver at the Magness Arena Sunday afternoon.
- The Panthers posted their highest road score of the season – earning a 195.775 overall.
- Freshman Reyna Garvey secured a spot on the podium for her floor routine and in the all-around. Her performances from this weekend earned her EAGL Co-Rookie of the Week.
- Sophomore Hallie Copperwheat claimed a spot on the podium for her all-around performance as well. Her performances from this weekend earned her EAGL Gymnast of the week for the third consecutive time.
SCOUTING TOWSON
- During the dual meet against GW on Wednesday night, the Tigers posted their highest score of the season – earning a 196.125 to GW's 195.550.
- Towson's highest rotation of the night was on floor where they posted a 49.375.
- Amy Stewart took the first-place title on floor with her performance – earning a 9.925.
- The Tiger's performance was their fourth highest on bars and floor and 12th highest in program history.
- This will be the 53rd meeting between the Panthers and the Tigers. Towson currently holds a 32-20 lead over the Panthers.
SCOUTING NC STATE
- NC State topped Western Michigan and North Carolina on Saturday evening – earning a final score of 196.275.
- The Wolfpack secured four first-place finishes with Emily Shepard claiming the all-around with her 39.375 performance.
- NC State's performance on floor earned them a 49.275 – their highest total in the event of the season.
- Chloe Negrete continued to lead the Wolfpacks on floor – matching her season-high 9.925.
- Friday will be the second time this season and 57th meeting overall between the Panthers and the Wolfpack. NC State currently holds an 45-11 lead over the Panthers.
SCOUTING TEMPLE
- The Temple Owls marked their highest season score – earning a 194.950 against the Yale Bulldogs on Sunday afternoon.
- The Owls secured six gymnasts earning four event titles.
- Temple's fourth rotation of the meet, beam, was their highest-scoring event of the afternoon – posting a season-high 48.875 team score.
- Over the course of the meet and four apparatuses, the Owls earned six scores of 9.800 or higher.
- Friday will be the second time this season and 37th meeting overall between the Panthers and the Owls with Pitt currently holding a 23-12-1 lead over Temple.
