
Panthers Finish Second at Denver Quad Meet

DENVER, CO – The University of Pittsburgh gymnastics team (8-7, 1-0 EAGL) top the Air Force Falcons and George Washington Colonials but fell to No. 8 Denver at the Magness Arena Sunday afternoon.
The Panthers posted their highest road score of the season – earning a 195.775 overall. Freshman Reyna Garvey secured a spot on the podium for her floor routine and in the all-around. Sophomore Hallie Copperwheat claimed a spot on the podium for her all-around performance as well.
BEAM
Copperwheat and Garvey set the pace for the afternoon after each earning a 9.825 – en route to the all-around. Sophomore Jordyn Ewing earned a 9.775 for her routine on beam. The team scored a 48.900 for the first rotation.
FLOOR
The Panthers continued the momentum into the second rotation. Garvey posted a 9.875– earning the third-place title overall. Ewing and Sidney Washington were not far behind with their routines – each earning a 9.850. Copperwheat continued her journey to the all-around – scoring a 9.825 on floor. The Panthers finished with a 49.100 – their highest rotation score of the meet.
VAULT
Freshman Kennedy Duke finished at the top for the Panthers – scoring a 9.850. Washington posted a 9.825. Both Copperwheat and Ciara Ward earned a 9.775. All Panthers posted a scores of a 9.725 or higher on the third rotation.
BARS
The Panthers finished this afternoon's event on bars. Natalia Pawlak posted a 9.825 for her routine. Copperwheat anchored the event – earning a 9.850. Both Copperwheat and Garvery completed the all- around scoring a 39.275 – tying for the third-place title overall.
