
Panthers Travel to Colorado for Quad Meet

PITTSBURGH – The University of Pittsburgh gymnastics team (6-6, 0-0 EAGL) will travel to Denver, CO for a quad meet against Denver, Air Force and George Washington at the Ritchie Center on Sunday, Feb. 5 at 2 p.m. MST.

LAST TIME OUT
- The University of Pittsburgh gymnastics team (6-6, 0-0 EAGL) posted their highest team score against rival West Virginia in program history at the Backyard Brawl Friday night in the Fitzgerald Field House.
- The Panthers swept the podium, securing the first-place titles in all four events and the all-around.
- Sophomore Sidney Washington and freshman Kennedy Duke secured the first-place title on vault with their scores of a 9.800.
- Jordyn Ewing placed first on bars – earning a 9.950.
- Hallie Copperwheat and Reyna Garvey tied for first place on both beam and floor with their scores of 9.925 and 9.875, respectively. Copperwheat claimed the all-around first-place title with her performances tonight.
SCOUTING DENVER
- Denver improved its rankings after scoring a 197.425 against Oklahoma and moved up to the No. 8 place according to RoadToNationals.
- Five Pioneers secured podium finishes at Sunday's meet with Jessica Hutchinson taking second-place in the all-around (39.575).
- Freshman Kiley Rorich scored a team-high-tying 9.900 on bars as she made her collegiate debut against Oklahoma.
- Sunday will be the 7th meeting between the Panthers and the Pioneers. This quad meet will be the 3-3 record tie breaker between Pitt and Denver.
SCOUTING AIR FORCE
- The Falcons finished in second place at UC Davis Tri on Sunday afternoon with their composite score of 193.200.
- The team saw a season high 48.475 on bars with two falcons scoring a 9.775.
- Sophomore Velandra Brochi set a new personal season-high score on floor (9.825) – tying for third place overall.
- Sunday's meet will be the 5th meeting between the Panthers and the Falcons. Pitt currently holds a 4-0 lead over the Falcons.
SCOUTING GEORGE WASHINGTON
- The Colonials set a season high score of 195.350 on Saturday at North Carolina.
- During Saturday's meet, George Washington set a season-best score on beam, earning a 48.900.
- For the second time this season, Deja Chambliss claimed the first-place title on vault with her score of 9.875.
- Sunday will be the second time this season and 41st meeting overall between the Panthers and the Colonials. George Washington currently holds a 21-19 lead over the Panthers.
