
Copperwheat Awarded EAGL Gymnast of the Week for the Second Time in a Row

PITTSBURGH – Pitt gymnast Hallie Copperwheat was recognized on Wednesday morning, earning EAGL Gymnast of the Week honor for the second consecutive week.
Copperwheat received this award after her strong performance last Sunday afternoon in Muncie, IN at the quad meet against Ball State, SEMO, and Fisk.
The Leighton Buzzard, England native set a new career-high score on beam, earning a 9.950 after one judge scored her a 10.000. This routine secured her the first-place title on this event. Her consistency throughout the afternoon earned her the first-place title in the all-around with her score of 39.350.

Pitt will return home for the Backyard Brawl against West Virginia on Friday, Feb. 3 at 7:00 p.m. in the Fitzgerald Field House. This rivalry meet will recognize the 50th anniversary of Title IX and highlight the history of Pitt Gymnastics.
